Road Rage Incident Investigation

(Park Hills, MO) Park Hills Police are investigating a road rage incident that allegedly took place Sunday in St. Francois County. Park Hills Police Chief, Richard McFarland, says the problem began on Highway 67 and headed north ending in the parking lot of the Lady Di's Shamrock Restaurant at Park Hills. According to McFarland the trouble began when one driver failed to let another merge onto Highway 67 at the Fairgrounds onramp.

Both drivers reportedly made gestures at each other and ultimately their vehicles collided causing minimal damage. Once the two were in Lady Di's parking lot a verbal altercation became physical and one man admitted he shoved the other, hitting him twice. The man who was struck is said to have pulled a gun and shot the other driver's vehicle twice causing property damage. The alleged shooter drove away but was later pulled over and taken into custody. One of the male drivers is said to be from Farmington, the other from St. Louis. McFarland explains the investigation is ongoing so no names are being released at this time. Park Hills Police are investigating the altercation while Troopers with the Highway Patrol are investigating the accident that occurred when the two vehicles collided.
