Rogers Faces Multiple Charges

(Jefferson County, MO) A Fenton man, 49 year old Marcus Rogers, is in custody at the Jefferson County jail after allegedly struggling with deputies during his arrest last Thursday. According to information from Jefferson County Sheriff, Dave Marshak, at 5 pm Thursday Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to calls concerning a suspicious man in the 1700 block of Gravois Road in High Ridge. The first Deputy on scene approached the suspect and asked him to identify himself. The man produced an ID that clearly wasn’t his. A second Deputy arrived and recognized Rogers who had outstanding felony warrants and was also wanted by St. Louis County Police for a recent robbery and burglary. The Deputies placed Rogers under arrest and attempted to put him in handcuffs. He ignored the Deputies’ commands and began to struggle in an attempt to escape. Deputies attempted to tase Rogers in order to gain his compliance yet the taser wasn’t effective. A canine officer was deployed to subdue Rogers and the K9 was able to subdue Rogers long enough for Deputies to take him into custody. He's being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond on a charge of Arson 1st Degree through Jefferson County. Various other charges are being reviewed by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney.
