Schunks Band Room Dedication

(Park Hills, MO) The Dan Schunks Band Room is now a reality at Mineral Area College after a special dedication of the college's band room Thursday on the Park Hills Campus. During the ceremony area music educator, Kurt Bauche, told the crowd they wanted to honor Schunks for his contribution to educating students of all ages not only in the Parkland but across the state.

Schunks spoke as well saying he's grateful for the time he spent as a student and a teacher at MAC and for the time spent working with so many talented people during his career.

Schunks was best known for being conductor of the Mineral Area College Kicks Band, a position he held for 30 years. He was also the conductor for the Community Symphony Band and was a band director for the West County and North County School Districts for many years.
