St. Francois County Motorcycle Wreck

(St. Francois Co., MO) A Man from Valles Mines, 42 year old Joseph S. Elliot, is recovering from serious injuries after he was involved in a motorcycle crash in St. Francois County at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon.

Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show Elliot was riding the motorcycle east on Route Y, east of Route D, when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The bike ran off the right side of the highway and struck the ground. Elliot was thrown from the motorcycle as it crashed into a traffic sign.

Elliot, who was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident, was flown to Mercy Hospital at St. Louis.
