St. Francois County Offers Assistance

(Glenallen, MO) St. Francois County officials are offering assistance to Bollinger County after a tornado touched down in the Glenallen area Wednesday morning. St. Francois County Presiding Commissioner, Harold Gallaher, says counties assist each other when needed in times of emergency.

Members of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center called the twister an EF2 or EF3. Reports indicate there were at least 5 fatalities and multiple severe injuries. The twister touched down a little before 4 am. Highway Patrol reports show the tornado struck near Highway 34 close to Grassy, north of Marble Hill, on 51 Highway. Damage is extensive with structural problems and road blockage. Debris was seen covering parts of Highway M in Scopus.
