State to Carry Out Sentence of Tisius

(Bonne Terre, MO) Governor Mike Parson confirms the state of Missouri will carry out the execution sentence of Michael Tisius on Tuesday, June 6, as ordered by the Supreme Court of Missouri. During a failed jailbreak of a former cellmate on June 22, 2000, Mr. Tisius executed two unarmed jail guards, Jason Acton and Leon Egley. Once he was apprehended hundreds of miles away, Tisius provided law enforcement written and oral confessions for the murders. His case received fair and careful review at each step in the judicial process. Tisius will be put to death at 6 pm today at the Eastern Reception and Diagnostic center at Bonne Terre.
