Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Residents of the Parkland have the opportunity to become better prepared for severe weather at a Storm Spotter Class scheduled for Monday, February 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Farmington Centene Center.
The free event, conducted by meteorologists from the National Weather Service (NWS), will teach participants how to identify and report severe weather features. Topics include storm structure, tornadoes, flash floods, hailstorms, downbursts, NWS technology and procedures, as well as storm spotter organization, coordination, and safety. The class is open to all ages, and no registration is required. Whether you're a weather enthusiast or simply want to help keep your community safe, this training is a valuable opportunity to learn from professionals.
