Suspect Arrested in Potosi Burglary Case

(Potosi, MO) A man from Hollister, Nicholas Steis, will have his initial appearance in Washington County Court September 12th for charges of Burglary 1st degree, Resisting arrest, Property Damage 2nd degree, Possession of Burglary tools, and Stealing $750 or more. Steis was arrested in connection to a burglary in Potosi September 5th. INformation from the Potosi Police Facebook page indicates Potosi Police were dispatched for a burglary that had just occurred. When officers arrived they were made aware of a suspicious person attempting to hide his vehicle by covering it near the site of the crime. Officers responded and located Steis at a residence in Potosi along with his vehicle that had been captured on a camera by the victim. Steis refused to comply with orders to come out of the house before finally exiting the residence where he was taken into custody. Steis is being held at the Washington County Jail with no bond.
