Suspect, Victim Identified in Jefferson County Homicide

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Charges have been filed against the 20-year-old male suspect involved in Wednesday night's homicide in Jefferson County.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak, Chaptur Wagoner, of Arnold, has been charged with Murder - 1st Degree, two counts of Assault - 1st Degree, three counts of Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, for allegedly shooting and killing 43-year-old Timothy Geitz, of St. Louis.

According to the Probable Cause Statement, officers responded Wednesday evening to a call in the 2400 block of Lombard, in Imperial. Officers observed a male subject deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, who was seated within the driver's seat of a vehicle. During the investigation, two other victims were identified as being within, or near, Geitz's vehicle at the time of the incident.

Witnesses were interviewed, in which identified Wagoner. He was then questioned and arrested.

Investigators believe Wagoner and Geitz are familiar with one another due to an incident prior to the shooting. As such, they feel confident this was a targeted incident, and there was no threat to the public.

Wagoner is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond. This incident is still under investigation.
