Caledonia, Mo. (KFMO) - A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday morning at the Valley R-VI School District to officially begin a major phase of construction and renovation aimed at improving safety, security, and student facilities.
Superintendent Jason Samples says the overall project will take between 18 to 24 months to complete.
Samples says the district has already made several key upgrades, including the installation of a new intercom system, a new fence around the elementary playground, and various other enhancements to support student safety. Additional improvements include updated electrical systems, better exterior lighting, and the creation of more secure entry points across campus.
These changes are part of PROPOSITION S, a district-wide initiative to modernize school infrastructure and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
