Water Recreation Needs a Life Vest

(St. Francois County, MO) If you're going to spend recreational time in the water this summer members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Marine Division say you need to wear a life vest or jacket. The Patrol's, Corporal Juston Wheetley, says people who have drowned don't usually wear them.

Wheetley also says no matter how good you are at swimming, the currents in rivers can be deceiving and pull you under before you can react properly.
