Weapon Found on North County Campus

(Bonne Terre, MO) Officials with the North County School District are releasing information about a weapon found on the High School Campus during a K9 search Wednesday. A letter addressing the incident has been posted and sent to parents from District Superintendent, Katy Bockman. In the letter Bockman says as a community service The K9 Unit from the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department performed a sweep of the parking lots and outside grounds of the campus and discovered the weapon. The letter doesn't state what kind of weapon was found yet does indicate it was found in a vehicle. Law enforcement officials determined the weapon was no immediate threat however it was handled by law enforcement according to state and local laws and district policies.
