Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - The North County Raiders are advancing to the District semifinal round, defeating the DeSoto Dragons 31-21 on Friday night.
The Raiders (7-3) got the better of the Dragons (5-5) once again after defeating them in Week 3 during the regular season. However, this time around, DeSoto proved to be a much more formidable opponent, taking the game into the 3rd quarter tied at 21.
The 4th quarter saw North County finally pull away, with a touchdown getting their lead to 7 before a 41-yard field goal finally gave the Raiders a 2-score lead. The Dragons took a few shots at getting down the field, but North County's defense stood firm and moved the team on to the next round.
North County next faces Festus (7-2). The Tigers are the 1st seed in Class 4, District 1.
