Arlington, TX (KFMO) - The St. Louis Battlehawks dropped their second straight Saturday, losing 30-15 to the Arlington Renegades.
After an early injury to starting quarterback Manny Wilkins, the Battlehawks (2-2) struggled to perform under backup Max Duggan. St. Louis failed to record an offensive touchdown, with all of the scoring being done by kicker Rodrigo Blankenship. Blankenship was 3-3 on the day with field goals of 55, 31, and 53 yards.
After going down 16-9 midway through the 3rd quarter, the Battlehawks briefly brought the game back to a 1-point contest after linebacker Willie Harvey returned an interception 56 yards to the endzone. However, Arlington scored the only points of the 4th quarter, including an interception return of their own, to take the 30-15 victory.
St. Louis is 2-2 on the season but return to the The Dome at America's Center this week. The Battlehawks host the Michigan Panthers. The Panthers are 3-1 this season and are coming off of a win over the Memphis Showboats.
