Bismarck, Mo. (KFMO) - The Bismarck Chamber of Commerce, along with several local businesses, came together on Saturday, February 22, to host Ollie Day, an event honoring Elmfarm Ollie, the famous flying cow from 1930.
Bismarck Mayor Seth Radford explained the significance of the event, highlighting the historical moment when Elmfarm Ollie became the first cow to fly in an airplane and be milked mid-flight.
More than 300 people gathered for the celebration, which featured a unique spectacle, 96 plush cows were dropped from the sky over Bismarck Airport, giving kids a chance to take home a fun souvenir.
The day also included games, food trucks, vendors, and activities for the whole family, making it a memorable community event.
