ERDCC Holds Ceremony Honoring Crime Victims During National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - April 6 through 12, 2025 marks National Crime Victims' Rights Week, an annual observance that began in 1981 to raise awareness and promote the rights and needs of crime victims.

On Thursday, the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre held a special ceremony to honor victims of crime. Institutional Activities Coordinator Connie Jurczyk spoke during the event, emphasizing the importance of remembering those who have been impacted.

Other speakers included Warden Richard Adams, resident Ronnell Mottley, and many others.

This year’s theme, "Connecting with Kinship and Healing," highlights the importance of community support and the power of human connection in helping victims and survivors move forward.

The message serves as a call to action—to recognize the shared humanity of all people and place that understanding at the heart of healing and support efforts for victims of crime.
