Flood Incident Claims Life of Ironton Man

Iron Co., Mo. (KFMO) - An Ironton man lost his life after his car was swept away by floodwaters on Monday afternoon, November 4.

The incident occurred on County Road 42 in Ironton. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 66-year-old man attempted to cross a flooded bridge around 2:15 p.m. when the strong currents pushed his vehicle off the bridge.

The Highway Patrol reported that the car floated approximately half a mile downstream before finally coming to a stop.
