French Village Man Dead in ATV Wreck

(French Village, MO) A man from French Village, identified as 57 year old Charles L. Lake is dead following a rollover ATV accident in St. Francois County Sunday afternoon. The state patrol says it happened just after 5:30 on Osage Drive, south of Fish Pond Drive. That's where Lake was headed north. His car crossed the centerline and ran off the left side of the road. Lake overcorrected and the car went off the right side of the road before rolling over. Lake, who was not wearing a safety device, was thrown from the side by side. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
