House Springs Man Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison for Drug Possession

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 47-year-old House Springs man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple drug possession charges and having his probation revoked for previous offenses.

Reed Ludwig was sentenced on March 25 by Jefferson County Circuit Judge Brenda Stacey to seven years for each of four drug possession charges stemming from arrests in November 2023 and April 2024. The sentences will be served concurrently, for a total of seven years, according to court documents.

Ludwig had previously pleaded guilty to drug charges in 2017 and 2020 and was sentenced as a persistent offender after his probation was revoked in September 2024. That seven-year sentence will also be served at the same time as the new sentence.

Court records show that Ludwig was first arrested on Nov. 16, 2023, after being stopped for speeding on Old Sugar Creek Road in High Ridge. A Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy discovered Ludwig was driving with a revoked license and found a bag containing a white substance in his pocket, which later tested positive as methamphetamine. He was arrested again on April 25, 2024. During that stop, deputies found a syringe containing liquid and multiple pills in containers inside a vehicle Ludwig was driving. Tests confirmed the liquid was meth and the pills were identified as controlled substances.

Ludwig is currently being held at the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
