Korean War Veteran and Beloved Family Man, James Adams, Passes Away at 100

Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - James Adams, of Desloge, a revered Korean War veteran and family man, passed away peacefully at his home on September 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 100 years old.

James was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Louise, with whom he celebrated an incredible 73 years of marriage earlier this year. Their bond was the cornerstone of their family, which includes their children, Larry Adams, Donna Adams Burkhalter and Cyndi Hudson, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In March, KFMO B104 News had the privilege of speaking with Larry and Donna, who shared stories of their parents’ enduring love and devotion. Larry reflected on the importance of family time.

Louise, with a warm smile and a twinkle in her eye, recalled the day she met James. Their story, which began as a simple chance encounter, blossomed into a lifetime of love, laughter, and shared memories.

James served his country with honor during the Korean War. But beyond his military service, he had an unwavering commitment to his family. James Adams’ life was a testament to love, sacrifice, and the power of family—a legacy that will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.
