Man charged with 21 counts of sodomy

A Belgrade man has been charged with 21 felonies in Washington County for alleged sexual assault.  On Thursday, February 18, 60 year old William Alvie Milam was booked into the Washington County Jail and is being held without bond after being charged with multiple counts of sodomy with a person less than 14 years old.  
The Washington County Sheriff’s office probable cause statement reports that on February 3rd, the alleged victim claimed Milam sexually assaulted her from 1998 to 2003, when she was between 12 and 17 years of age. The victim reported the incidents occurred both in her home as well as during car rides and vacations.
According to documents, the alleged sexual assaults occurred while Milam was employed by the Potosi Correctional Center. Milam is set to be arraigned on Friday in Washington County court and if convicted, could face a life sentence.
