  • Some doctors recommending Apple Watches to manage health conditions
    Some doctors are telling their patients to get an Apple Watch, which is not a medical device, to help diagnose and manage certain health conditions, as researchers look into how to use the devices for monitoring heart disease and post-surgery recovery, according to the Wall Street Journal. Dr. Rod Passman, professor of medicine at Northwestern Medicine, joined CBS News to talk about some of the possible benefits.

Harassment of local officials, both Democrats and Republicans, has increased by 55% over the past two years, according to a new study.

    New cease-fire talks are scheduled to begin this week in the war between Israel and Hamas. Last week, for the first time, Israel's military took foreign journalists into the city of Rafah. Israel says it had to go into the city near the border with Egypt because Hamas's four remaining battalions were hiding there. Israel's military claims it's killed more than 900 militants in the city; however, it's also killed civilians.

    A right-wing political party was expected to take control of the French legislature, but instead a left-wing coalition won the largest share of seats, exit polls projected. However, it is not enough to take control. President Emmanuel Macron's centrist alliance came in second.
  • Hurricane Beryl makes landfall in Texas as a Category 1 storm
    Hurricane Beryl made landfall between Galveston and Corpus Christi, Texas, on Monday. The dangerous Category 1 storm brings torrential rain, winds up to 80 mph and storm surge up to 7 feet high.
