  • Gaza cease-fire talks progressing, officials indicate
    A senior U.S. official said Saturday that the response from the militant group Hamas to an existing cease-fire proposal in the war with Israel "may provide the basis for closing the deal." The details of the cease-fire plan were initially outlined by President Biden in May and include the release of female, elderly and wounded hostages in stage one, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza in stage two.
