Iran's relentless attacks on Gulf states and infrastructure appear to be overshadowing interventions by the U.S. and its allies aimed at easing energy prices.

An Iranian vessel sailed too close to the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, and the U.S. fired at the vessel, according to two U.S. officials.

The attacker rammed a vehicle into the synagogue and was confronted and killed by security, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.

An armed suspect with explosives rammed a truck into a Michigan synagogue on Thursday before a security guard shot and killed the suspect. Meanwhile, a deadly shooting at Virginia's Old Dominion University, also on Thursday, is being investigated as an act of terrorism. The suspect, who was killed following the shooting, had previously been imprisoned for several years for trying to support ISIS, the FBI said.
